Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam Election: BJP Leader Mukesh Tyagi Leaves Party

Mukesh Tyagi Abandons Ghaziabad BJP!

Mukesh TyagiVetaran BJP leader and a 3 time Councillor from Ghaziabad, Mukesh Tyagi has decided to leave Bhartiya Janta Party. Mukesh Tyagi, who is famous for his honesty and down-to-earth behavior, has been a notable face in Ghaziabad BJP due to his regular campaigns to cleanse the system in Nagar Nigam.

For upcoming elections, Tyagi's wife Rekha Tyagi, a two time councillor herself was asking for a ticket from Ward 71 of Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam which has been reserved for Women. But Rekha has been denied the ticket by the BJP and has been ignored by choosing a councillor's wife who had earlier ditched Bhartiya Janta Party and joined Samajwadi Party. Rekha has now chosen to fight the upcoming election as an independent candidate.

As per Mukesh Tyagi, as his wife Rekha Tyagi has been a Councillor from Sanjay Nagar, Ghaziabad so she should have been the first choice for BJP ticket in the area. It is to be noted that Rekha had herself gone and applied for a BJP ticket while rival Councillor was accompanied by her husband to the ticket screening committee.

Apparently, Rekha Tyagi is a Post Graduate and much more educated than her BJP rival.

Mukesh Tyagi feels BJP has given him the prize for his honesty and campaigning against corruption in Nagar Nigam Ghaziabad by not giving ticket to his wife Rekha.

Mukesh says this is the result of him speaking on the corruption in leasing out Habitat Center in Ghaziabad. As per the reports, Habitat Club was given on lease in 2015. The firm which won the tender had taken the club at a bid of Rs 46 Lakhs per annum and a premium of Rs 15 Lakh rupees. The firm didn't deposit the fee and premium after paying it for first year. The firm then requested Ghaziabad Nagar Nigam a time of six months. The scam in this Habitat Club was unearthed by Mr Mukesh Tyagi but was asked to remain shut by big leaders of his party.
